Beijing, CHINA, December 28, 2023 - Xiaomi has showcased its commitment to revolutionizing the automotive industry by introducing five core technologies during the Xiaomi EV Technology Launch. These technologies include E-Motor, Battery, Xiaomi Hyper Die-Casting, Xiaomi Pilot Autonomous Driving, and Smart Cabin. The event also marked the global debut of Xiaomi's first electric vehicle, the Xiaomi SU7, positioned as a "full-size high-performance eco-technology sedan."

Redefining Automotive Technology

Xiaomi EV is taking a bottom-up approach, focusing on developing foundational core technologies and conducting in-depth independent research in key sectors. With an investment of over 10 billion CNY in the initial research and development phase, Xiaomi EV has unveiled groundbreaking advancements in its five core technologies.

 

E-Motor Advancements

 

 

Xiaomi showcased its independently developed E-motors, including the HyperEngine V6/V6s and HyperEngine V8s. The HyperEngine V8s, set for mass production in 2025, sets a global record with a maximum speed of 27,200 rpm, 425kW output, and 635N·m peak torque. Noteworthy innovations include Bidirectional Full Oil Cooling Technology and a unique silicon steel plate design, surpassing industry standards.

 

Battery Technology Breakthroughs

 

 

Xiaomi's CTB Integrated Battery Technology boasts a 77.8% integration efficiency, the highest worldwide for CTB batteries. With a maximum battery capacity of 150 kWh, Xiaomi EV achieves a theoretical CLTC recharge range exceeding 1200 km. Safety features include a 14-layer protection system, dual-side water cooling, and a self-developed Battery Management System (BMS) with ASIL-D functional safety.

 

Xiaomi Hyper Die-Casting

 

 

Xiaomi introduced its Xiaomi Hyper Die-Casting T9100 cluster and proprietary die-casting alloy material, Xiaomi Titans Metal. This technology reduces production hours by 45% through efficient quality inspections and innovative die-casting material.

 

Xiaomi Pilot Autonomous Driving

 

 

Xiaomi demonstrated its leadership in intelligent software technology, unveiling Adaptive BEV Technology, Road-Mapping Foundational Model, and Super-Res Occupancy Network Technology. These advancements ensure wider visibility, real-time road condition recognition, and precise obstacle recognition, setting the stage for Xiaomi's intelligent Autonomous Driving system to join the industry's top echelon by 2024.

 

Smart Cabin Innovation

 

 

The Xiaomi EV Smart Cabin adopts a "human-centric" interaction architecture, featuring a 16.1-inch 3K central console, a 56-inch HUD head-up display, and a 7.1-inch rotating dashboard. The system, powered by the Snapdragon 8295 in-car chip, provides an ultimate interactive experience, seamlessly integrating with over 1000 Xiaomi smart home devices.

 

Xiaomi SU7: A Pinnacle of Performance

 

Positioned as a "full-size high-performance eco-technology sedan," the Xiaomi SU7 is equipped with cutting-edge technology, achieving a zero-to-hundred acceleration in 2.78 seconds and a top speed of 265 km/h. The vehicle incorporates Xiaomi's Smart Multidimensional Sensing and Global Synchronized Control for stable handling and a nearly "bump-free" driving experience.

Lei Jun emphasized that Xiaomi's foray into the automotive industry completes the "Human x Car x Home" smart ecosystem, aligning with the company's transition from "Smartphone x AIoT" to the broader strategic focus.
